January 2010 The
year 2009 is behind us. It was a very special year. Early
May we became the new owners of Den Haan & Wagenmakers in Amsterdam. From
that moment on, we could call the beautiful building with the outstanding
collection of chintzes “ours”. We
had made plans to expand the fabric collection with American reproductions,
Japanese rose prints, books and quilt supplies as well as organizing classes
and workshops. We
also wanted to have fixed opening hours and wanted to present ourselves at
shows home and abroad. A
busy time started and busy it remained. We have now a beautiful reproduction
section on the second floor, the “Dutch Garden” has been reprinted, there is a
wall full with quilt supplies and we have all kind of books as well for the
beginning as for the advanced quilter. We have had the first classes and they have
been continued. The shows in Veldhoven, Alkmaar, St Marie aux Mines and Houston
were a success. We
are looking back on a great start and the plans for the next year are ready! We
are working on new quilts which incorporate chintzes as well as other reproduction
fabrics, different “clubs” will be established like a “Medallion Club”, a “Stitchery Club” and a
“The Farmer’s Wife Club” and the first application forms for several shows are
already mailed/in the mail. 2010!
We are looking forward to it and are ready for it. Information

club and class overview can be found at “Cursussen” or can be collected at the
