Exclusively printed for homefurnishings or a handmade quilt. As you could read at our home page our designs are inspired by the original chintz fabrics which were brought by the merchants of the Dutch East India Company (VOC) trading on India's Coromandel coast to the Netherlands during the 17th and early 18th century.
The shiny chintz fabrics, mostly printed with floral or fertility symbols or designs of trees, were used in The Netherlands not only in the interior of the houses but also for making clothes for men and women.
Our company sells reproductions of these designs, made by Den Haan & Wagenmakers. Occasionally the whole design, according to a scheme of colours we deem most suitable to revive the beauty of a foregone time.
The required small and exclusive printing takes place in the Netherlands under their guidance.
Chintz fabrics are extremely suitable for making handmade quilts and clothing (traditional costumes), but also for being used in interior decoration (e.g. curtains, pillows, table cloth).
'Oberkampf' was a designer and manufacturer of fabrics in France. This series is based on the fabrics reproduced in France in the 19th century: large flowers and more refined. The design measures 16 x 18 cm/6,25 x 7 inch.
